VISA

Overview

France offers different types of visas depending on the length and purpose of your stay. Travelers can apply for a short-stay Schengen visa (up to 90 days) or a long-stay visa (over 90 days) for reasons such as study, work, or family reunification.

Some nationalities are exempt from this visa; applicants should check eligibility before applying. Long-Stay Visa

If you plan to stay in France for more than 3 months, you will need a long-stay visa. This type is issued for purposes like studying, employment, or joining family members. In some cases, it also serves as a temporary residence permit once you arrive in France.

Steps to Apply

1. Check visa type and requirements on the official France-Visas website. 2. Complete the online application form and print the receipt.

3. Book an appointment at your nearest French consulate or visa application center. 4. Prepare the required documents, such as a valid passport, passport photos, travel insurance, proof of accommodation, return flight booking, and financial means. 5. Submit the application and pay the fees at the visa center.

6. Wait for processing, which usually takes around 15 days but can be longer during busy periods.

7. Receive your visa and check all details carefully before traveling.

Important Notes

● Apply no earlier than 6 months before your trip.

● If you plan to visit other Schengen countries, apply at the embassy of the country where you will spend the most time.

● Always provide accurate information and supporting documents to avoid delays or rejection.
